1. AcceleDent orthodontic treatment accelerator
Get out of Braces Faster!
AcceleDent is an exciting new technology that can be used to speed up the orthodontic treatment process. It is safe and easy to use, and while it needs to be used for 20 minutes per day, it can cut down treatment time by up to 50%! This device is easy to use and can also help to reduce the discomfort some patients feel during orthodontic treatment.
AcceleDent was introduced in 2009 and has been cleared by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) after proving in clinical trials that it is efficient and safe for patients to use. It must be prescribed by an orthodontist like Dr. David Markham and can help create amazing results for patients.
How Does it Work?
AcceleDent works by creating “micropulses” – these tiny pulses vibrate the teeth in a very deliberate and controlled way. The vibrations are so gentle in fact, that they vibrate teeth much less than a typical electric toothbrush would. The difference is that these “micropulses” are very effective in remodeling and stimulating the bone around the teeth, a process which allows the teeth to move more quickly and often with less discomfort than it would be without AcceleDent.
The appliance is made up of the activator and a mouthpiece. The activator is what causes the pulsation and can be hooked up to a computer so that Dr. David Markham can track progress. It has a rechargeable battery, which only needs to be recharged every three days, and is portable – so it’s easy to bring with you anywhere. The mouthpiece that connects to the activator looks like a clear mouth guard, which is comfortable to wear and easy to clean. You will only need to use the AcceleDent 20 minutes per day!
AcceleDent can be used to shorten the length of the orthodontic treatment, be it braces or Invisalign!
2. Propel orthodontic treatment accelerator
Accelerate Orthodontic Treatment with or Without Invisalign
Another great option that is available to help to speed up orthodontic treatment is the Propel accelerator. Not only can it reduce treatment time by up to 60%, but it can be used to treat more complex orthodontic conditions. An added advantage of Propel is that it can be used with Invisalign too, not only with braces!
Propel Works by Stimulating the Bone Around the Teeth
Like AcceleDent, Propel technology works by stimulating the bone around the teeth that are to be moved, but in a different manner. With Propel the bone is stimulated with a 3-step process that is performed in Dr. David Markham’s office. Small indentations are made around the targeted teeth, which then trigger the bone around the teeth to be stimulated and remodel. This remodeling causes teeth to move in the desired direction faster than if the patient had worn braces or Invisalign aligners alone.
The procedure is entirely comfortable and safe.
